Abomi Nation: Monster Rifts ANNOUNCED!

The sequel to Abomi Nation, Abomi Nation: Monster Rifts, has finally been announced! Check out the reveal trailer here:

The number one thing you can do to help development is to WISHLIST the game on Steam and FOLLOW its Kickstarter page! It will really help the game reach more people.

A lot has changed since you last visited Abomi Nation! Mainly, you'll notice that everything has a new pixel art look, and that you now traverse through areas via a branching path map system... oh, yeah, and the small matter of giant rifts tearing holes in the sky!

In this new Abomi Nation, you'll travel through several maps to recruit new Abomis, participate in random events, and battle enemies. Once you've defeated a map's boss Abomi, you'll travel back to your main base where you can walk around freely as your Abomis and prep for your next adventure.

Now, about those titular Monster Rifts...

As holes in the sky start tearing apart space, time, and the very fabric of Abomi Nation, you realize you need to stop the source of whatever is creating these things! But, a fortunate side effect is that these rifts are bringing over all sorts of monsters from dozens of indie universes! You can recruit these crossover monsters to fight alongside your team of Abomis to help close these rifts.

Already we've got confirmation that the rifts have brought over monsters from

Alekon

...and there are plenty more on the way! Which franchises do you want to see in Abomi Nation?

The rifts don't even stop at indie game universes. You can use them to bring in... your own creations!

Abomi Nation: Monster Rifts will come with the built-in Abomi Nation Creation Station, which will allow users to import sprites, set some stats, and create their very own Abomis - no coding experience required!

After you've finished creating your Abomi line, you can upload and share your creations on the Steam Workshop so that other players all over the world can use your unique little fellas!

This tool is so streamlined that it's currently what I use to add new Abomis to the game.

The road toward this announcement was filled with so much work and so much secrecy. It took a lot to get here, so I wanted to extend a big thank you to all of my crossover partners, who have been unbelievably supportive behind the scenes while I had to hide what I was working on. It's an honour to feature you guys alongside my Abomis, and I can't wait to grow the Monster Rifts family to ridiculous sizes.

I'm even more excited to see all the crazy and cool designs that the community comes up with using the Creation Station. The possibilities are truly endless, and I can't wait to see where things end up. Thanks, everybody, for checking out this announcement. I'll plug again that the best way to stay updated and help the game grow at the same time is to:

I'll be in touch with more announcements soon! Carl
